CPA alongside WLL and Hammersmith BID invite local schools to design competition for London Festival of Architecture

When the London Festival of Architecture came to Hammersmith, Chartered Practice Architects worked with West London Link Design and Hammersmith BID to inspire local school children to take ownership of their local community through a design competition, briefing them to brainstorm ways to connect the area to the river thames. Led by architectural students from a multitude of backgrounds including Oxford Brookes, University of Westminster and the University of Rome, the resulting exhibition showcased the classmates immediate responses, through playful concept models and sketches. With Larmenier & Sacred Heart Primary School, John Betts Primary School and Latymer Upper School all contributing to the event, it’s success was evident in the enthusiastic participation of the children and the commitment they showed towards their work.
